THE CROSS OVER PROJECT
Mikiko and Maria met at a Design fair in Sweden in 2016 and formed an instant global friendship. That soon evolved into this cross over stitch embroidery project, with patterns rooted in both Japanese and Swedish culture and traditions. In that way, the cross over project is the result of two friends’ mutual interest for design and handicraft. We hope that it will inspire others, on both sides of the planet.
MIKIKO YAMANASHI is the queen of Hemslöjd in Japan, with uncountable exhibitions, books, magazines, lectures and TV-performances on her CV. Among her customers you find the Japanese Royal family and she has received an honorable medal from The Swedish King.
